Where We Design, Build and Fit

Everything we sell is made in our own factory on Blakewater Road in Blackburn, and installed by our own fitters. That factory is the reason we can cover a wide patch without the job turning into a chain of subcontractors blaming each other.

A real price range in about 90 seconds, worked out from our own price list.

Blackburn

Our home town

Blackburn is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces through Mill Hill, Little Harwood and Audley, semis out towards Lammack, Beardwood and Wilpshire, and newer estates at Shadsworth and Roman Road.

Darwen

about 10 minutes

Darwen is a stone and brick terraced town, and the older houses around Sunnyhurst, Whitehall and Bolton Road tend to have narrow galley kitchens with a chimney breast in an awkward place.

Accrington

about 12 minutes

Hyndburn is dense red-brick terracing, much of it built for the mills, with the familiar hard Accrington brick.

Burnley

about 20 minutes

Burnley has some of the best value period housing in the North West, and a lot of it is stone terraces with generous ceiling heights around Whittlefield, Rosehill and Brunshaw.

Clitheroe

about 20 minutes

The Ribble Valley is stone cottages, converted barns, period farmhouses and a growing number of high-specification new builds.

Preston

about 25 minutes

Preston has an unusually wide mix. The terraces off Deepdale and New Hall Lane are compact and need every millimetre used properly.

Chorley

about 25 minutes

Chorley has grown a great deal, and it shows in the housing. The older centre and Coppull are terraced and compact; Euxton, Clayton-le-Woods and Buckshaw Village are largely modern estates.

Bolton

about 30 minutes

Bolton runs from dense terracing in the centre and Farnworth through to substantial stone and brick houses out at Bromley Cross, Egerton and Harwood.

Rossendale

about 25 minutes

Rossendale is built on the sides of a steep valley, and it shows in the houses. Stone terraces run up the hillsides in Rawtenstall, Waterfoot and Bacup, and a great many of them are split over more levels than the front elevation suggests, with the kitchen half a storey down or tucked behind a cellar head.

Bury

about 30 minutes

Bury covers a very wide range in a small area. Radcliffe, Elton and the streets near the centre are dense Victorian terracing where the kitchen is usually a back room and space is the whole problem.

Wigan

about 35 minutes

Wigan's older housing is largely terraced, built for the pits and the mills, and concentrated around Pemberton, Ince and Hindley.

Leyland

about 25 minutes

Leyland grew around the motor works, and a very large share of its housing is post-war: 1950s to 1970s semis and estate houses in Farington, Moss Side and Seven Stars, with newer developments filling in around them ever since.
