Leyland Kitchens
Made 25 Minutes Away, Fitted by the People Who Made Them
Leyland grew around the motor works, and a very large share of its housing is post-war: 1950s to 1970s semis and estate houses in Farington, Moss Side and Seven Stars, with newer developments filling in around them ever since. Those kitchens tend to be a decent square shape but modest in size, often with a back door and a window competing for the same wall, and the original layouts assumed a free-standing cooker and not much else. Out towards Longton, Hutton, Much Hoole and Croston the properties are older and more rural, with more room to work but rarely a straight wall.
In a mid-century semi the single biggest gain is usually not a more expensive door, it is better use of the corners and a proper set of drawers instead of low cupboards you have to kneel down to reach into. We will point that out on the first visit, because it costs you less and makes the kitchen noticeably better to use.

I had an extension to my house and contacted Prestige Cabinets for my kitchens and fitted wardrobes. From the very first contact I made to arrange a visit to completing the installation of the kitchens and wardrobes, they have over exceeded expectations. During the extension, I had several contractors working on my house, but I can honestly say that Prestige Cabinets were simply the best in the positive experience I had, the quality of product and their professionalism. They were friendly, flexible and a pleasure to work with. Since my installation, I have recommended them to all my family and friends many of whom have used them and are equally impressed. This review is my way of thanking them for their work, craftsmanship and for providing the best customer service in my experience.

Common Questions
Questions We Get From Leyland
Do you cover Leyland and the villages around it?
Yes. Leyland is about twenty-five minutes from our Blackburn factory, and we cover Farington, Moss Side, Longton, Hutton, Much Hoole, Croston and Bretherton.
My kitchen is a standard 1960s semi. Can it be improved much?
Usually a great deal, and often without moving a wall. Better corner storage and deep drawers in place of low cupboards change how the room works day to day far more than a costlier door does.
Can you work around a back door and window on the same wall?
Yes, and it is one of the more common layouts round here. Because we build the carcasses ourselves we can size the run to what is left rather than forcing standard widths into it.
